The guild will realm-transfer on 11 June 2013
As you all know, The Venture Co has become a ghost-realm since Cataclysm. The entire Mists of Pandaria has been a struggle for us (as it is for practically all other Horde guilds on the realm), and things are not likely to turn better. HyvätYstävät was the last raiding guild on the Horde side, but this downcircle the realm is going through at the moment is getting worse and worse. Plus, the summer is coming and activity will decrease to levels close to non-existent.
Despite our constant attempts at recruiting we're always lacking one tank. Raiding requires two. As a result, a raid group cannot be created. In addition, when people see yet another raid event in the game calendar where we only have one tank having accepted the invitation, they don't simply bother to even log on that night. As a result we rarely have even 10 players online at the same time anymore. People start turning passive and it's really hurting us as a guild. Some of us have an alt that has a tank spec (and perhaps even some gear), but that only means we'll be lacking a dps or a healer then; we simply don't have enough players. Since it's not possible to x-realm raid the latest content, we're out of things to try.
The raiding culture on the Venture Co has been degrading throughout the expansion, and players don't appear to be that interested in it anymore. So when we have 20 players online on the entire realm (half of them being us), good luck finding a PUG that:
As mentioned, this has been going on for quite some time, and it's really wearing us out. The Venture Co is my home realm, and as much I want to keep trying, I simply don't see the point anymore. Countless of players have either migrated out from the realm, or quit playing altogether. Or switched over to the Alliance side. The problem is that every time a player leaves, things get worse. But they never get better - the direction is always down. Only 11 realms in the entire EU region has a smaller population than the Venture Co. Blizzard doesn't do anything about the struggling realms. Personally, this hurts me greatly because the Venture Co is my original home realm, and I spent my best time in WoW here, raiding in the Burning Crusade. Back then, the realm was medium population and the balance of Horde/Alliance was somewhat stable. Great rivalry for realm-first kills (alliance vs. horde), too.
Now things will change. The guild master (on whose behalf I'm writing this) has decided to take a concrete action, and issued a realm-transfer for the entire guild. It will happen on 11th June. We've been discussing about this and playing with the idea for some time, but when the decision became reality, it somehow still feels I wasn't prepared for this. However, I understand that it had to be done, or otherwise we would risk losing players from our core group.
HyvätYstävät will move to StormReaver (PvP)
StormReaver belongs to the same battle group with the Venture Co and shares the Cross Realm Zones. In addition. we've got some friends there and know for sure that it's alive and vivid.
Now... I'm sure not everyone will follow to the new home. Not even all of the migrating players' characters. When a guild realm-transfers, the old guild will remain in the original realm (and a new copy will be created to the destination realm). In the process the old HyvätYstävät will be demoted to level 1, and the guild bank will empty. Otherwise the life will continue on its tracks on the Venture Co. Guildies will get an in-game mail with instructions how to follow. It seems that you still have to pay the normal character transfer price when moving your character(s).

I hate contributing to the act of making things even worse here on the Venture Co, I really do. But what else is there to be done
I must either follow, or remain here alone. And Alliance is not my thing...
- We've tried to recruit, but everyone has turned inactive after some time (and apparently quit the game, or playing on a different account)
- It's extremely hard to find even PUGs for raids or rated battlegrounds
- We've tried diplomacy on a several occasion where we tried to cooperate with other small horde guilds to mix players to at least get a raid group together. In general, this act has been fruitless time after time
- The faction inbalance is rediculous. Horde has about 20 people online during "peak hours"
- The Auction House is basically run by one person. In general, there's no demand nor supply.
- Even the Alliance has gone silent. I rarely see them in the world anymore

- is geared properly
- is prepared (having studied the strategies, and be stocked on consumables)
- is competent and knows how to maximize his/her spec
- has got time for raiding, and that the time of invitation fits to his plans for the night
- has the right attitude, is willing to join Teamspeak, and not be a jerk in general
